Kumar Mukherjee year was 1970, and a birth of a star spins into this earth keeping everyone indefinite, of the talent he is going to unleash through the corridor of time he is about to travel. He was born in a family, where commitment and dedication were the sacrosanct, and being in that environment, it became natural, to inculcate the disciple in him. This is Kumar Mukherjee; son of Smt. Suvra Mukherjee and Shri Kajal Mukherjee, a pioneer Footballer of his time – better known as George Best of India by his fans. With all his passion and dedication, he served India for 15 long years at various National and International levels. In 1978, at the tender age of eight, Kumar started his musical exploration, being blessed by his first Guru Pandit Shankar Ghosh, to start his “Avandyam Vidya” in Tabla. By 1980, Kumar discovered a soul connection while, practicing with his Guru, when he heard Smt. Sanjukta Ghosh, wife of Pandit Shankar Ghosh taking classical vocal classes at the same place. The mysticism of the “bhãv”, “rãg”, and “tãn” attracted Kumar to start his “tãlim” of Hindustani Classical Vocal under the guidance of Smt. Sanjukta Ghosh, the disciple of Ustad Munawar Ali Khan Sahib and Pandit Prasun Banerjee.
