From the land of “Blue Hills & Red River” of North-East India, comes the new powerhouse of Progressive Genre, “Chamber”. Initially, Chamber consisted of Bhargav-Vocals & Guitar, Ronjoy-Drums, Aakash-Bass, and Aditya-Lead Guitar. This four-piece line-up started out in 2010 as an Alternative Rock Band. But soon Ronjoy & Aakash left the Band to focus on their studies. Band’s future was uncertain for quite some time when Bhargav & Aditya were searching for eligible replacements. Bhargav contacted Dishankan after he heard him play the Acoustic Guitar in a College function in Guwahati Commerce College where both of them study. He was immediately recruited by Bhargav & currently he serves the Band as the Lead Guitarist. Through Dishankan, Bhargav met their current Keyboardist & programmer/producer Writam. Dishankan’s Brother Sandeepan also soon joined the band as the new Drummer. Bhargav met Bassist Shan through a mutual friend. Impressed by his bass skills, he was immediately included into Chamber’s line-up as the new Bassist. The quartet, which started out in 2010 finally ended up being a sextet group by the end of 2011.The current line-up includes Bhargav-Vocals, Dishankan-Lead Guitar, Writam-Key-Boards & Synthesizers, Sandeepan-Drums, Aditya-Rhythm Guitar, and Shan-Bass Guitar
Writam’s cousin, Priyam also serves as the songwriter & Assistant Recordist for the Band. After the song “Shades of the Faded Moon” being co-written by Priyam & Dishankan, Bhargav soon gave Priyam the opportunity to join them as the Band’s official songwriter.
Now, with most of the Band members being changed from the original line-up, the band’s sound also took a radical change. Most of the new members being avid listeners of Progressive Rock/Metal, this started to Show influence in developing Chamber’s new sound as well. The Alternative Rock sound of Chamber took a drastic change into Progressive rock/Metal sound, which was highly praised with positive reviews in leading music magazines of North-East India.
