Starting his passion to music at the age of eight, Kumaran practiced music under well-known musicians all over the world. DK has completed his 8th grade drumming with TRINITY SCHOOL OF MUSIC (London) with a distinction score of 92% (first place in India). DK was awarded as the best child musician in India for the year 2009. He was titled “CHILD PRODIGY OF THE YEAR 2009” by Rotract club of Hindu college and as “BIG CHUTTY KUTTY “(2008) By Big FM 92.7. Again in 2010 he was invited as a Chief Guest for a performance in WCC (Women’s Christian College) and was crowned as a Best child musician (2010). 

Kumaran was the only solo performer with the national channel Doordarshan in a live drum show for 30 minutes in the whole history of the channel. DK played for a lot of bands in and around India and also came up in lot of TV shows. He has recorded for a couple of movies in Tamil.
