Heena Kalgaonkar started taking training in classical music from Smt. Manda Umdekar of gwalior gharana at the age of 12years.  at the age of 18, she was selected to receive training of dhrupad from dhrupad exponent ustad zia farid uddin dagar at ustad allauddin khan sangeet academy bhopal for three years under gurur shishya parampara & completed her post graduation in music (m.a) from k.r.g college ,gwalior & madhyama antim from kheragarh university. right now she is under the able guidance of  dhrupad maestro pt. uday bhawalkar in pune.she has  accompanied her guru to several prestigious festivals & has got chance to perform with him.with complete dedication and clear goal she started her sangeet sadhana.she has been finely trained by her gurus to be a sensitive artist by nature.she learned to inherit finely the colour of music.she has won number of prizes for vocal music at school & college level.she has also received scholarship from the madhya pradesh kala academy, bhopal (m.p).though, this is her beginning, her journey continues within the ambititon to sing for the whole life & reach the zenith apropos of utmost pleasure of connoisseurs & music lovers.
