Lucid Recess is an Alternative Metal band from Guwahati, Assam, India formed in the spring ofl 2004 by brothers Siddharth and Amitabh Barooa. The Lucid arsenal took its present form when smoking ace Partha Boro joined as their drummer in 2009! 

The music is a blend of Alternative Metal and Rock with limitless sensibilities. One that eludes description.
18th of December, 2007 saw their foray into the unknown and unsuspecting as Lucid Recess released their 7 song EP ‘Carved’ . Lyrics on the EP were generally centred around various social issues, a la, Aids (The Maze), Global Warming (End That We Know), Terrorism (The Forever War), Alcohol and Drug abuse (Painstaking Obsession). 'If I Could' received a 3/5 in the Rolling Stones India magazine. The EP was self-recorded and self-produced at the Lucid Recess Studios, Guwahati! 
'Painstaking Obsession' saw light as a music video on the 26th of October,2008. It was created and directed by Rueban Issac and the cast were postgraduate students in Theatre Studies, The University of Surrey, UK.
