Karthik Subramany is a highly talented violinist, an electronics engineer and a postgraduate with distinction in IT, UK. He hails from a family of musicians. He started to play violin at the age of five and gave first performance at the age of nine, at Ganesh temple in Bangalore. With more than two decades of violin playing experience, he has given numerous concerts both as a soloist and as an accompanist enthralling audiences at various venues all over India and internationally. With strong roots in Carnatic, he is also adept at playing Indian film, Ghazals, Western Pop, Irish folk, Blues and more. He has received many awards including the Special award from Lord Mayor of Sheffield, UK and best Indian violinist award for his violin performances. He is one of the few musicians to give Carnatic violin solo concert at Lord Venkateshwara (Balaji) temple, Birmingham, UK. The concert was very well appreciated by the audience. Karthik holds the distinction of being the first South Indian Classical (Carnatic) musician to play violin live on BBC Radio, Sheffield, UK. He has been featured on Shawkat Hashmi's show twice on BBC Radio, Sheffield for which he has received overwhelming response from listeners all over the world.
