Pandit Tarun Krishna Das has been trained by the Dhrupad Maestro late Pandit Vidur Mallick of the Dharbanga Gharana. Gifted with a deep voice, which through dedicated training and practice has reached a clarity heard very rarely, Tarun is today recognized as one of the leading singers of Dhrupad-Dhamar amongst the younger generation from India. Born and brought up in Vrindavan, Tarun, despite his hardships felt drawn to classical singing in the Dhrupad style. Inspired by his elder brother Sri Radha Govinda Das , Tarun soon became one of the few chosen disciples of Pandit Vidur Mallick, from whom Tarun received intense training in Dhrupad-Dhamar under the Guru-Shishya Parampara. The paternal love and care he received from his Guru sharpened his talent and mind towards this centuries old art of singing, as also initiated him into various other branches of singing.
