Seema was initially trained in Hindustani classical vocal music in her hometown, Nainital. At Delhi, she was trained in Hindustani classical vocal music by Pt. LK Pandit. She was also fortunate to learn the intricacies of classical music from Pt. Tejpal Singh and semi-classical from Smt Shanti Hiranand and also for short duration from Pt. Murali Manohar Shukla of Mumbai. She got her light music training from renowned music composer Pt. Jwala Prasad at Delhi.
An empanelled artist for Aakashwani and ICCR, some of her appreciated performances were at Taj Festival and Lucknow Mahotsav and India International Centre at Delhi and many recordings. Mann Banwaraa, a melody she has co-written has been released by Hungama.com.
