The Uncertainty Principle is a Delhi based band which was formed in September, 2010 by Abhishek and Nishant. The band’s line-up today is an amalgamation of members with similar musical tastes and goals. After finally having found stability in the lineup, The Uncertainty Principle's music changed from an alternative rock sound; and developed a more progressive rock sound drawing its influence from bands like Tool and Karnivool.
The Uncertainty Principle made their mark on the music scene after winning IIT Delhi in 2011. They continued to win a lot of competitions in Delhi, and at the national level they were adjudged Runners-up at BITS Goa '12 and Hard Rock Rising ‘12. They were also Second Runners up at IIT Kanpur in 2012. The band has opened for International acts like Dead Letter Circus, Viatrophy and Sylosis and regularly plays gigs in and around Delhi. In late 2012, The Uncertainty Principle was one of five bands chosen from across the country by Rolling Stone India to play the 'Rayban Never Hide Sounds Concert' in Mumbai. The band also shot a music video and created a song in collaboration with heavyweights, 'Indus Creed'. In 2013, the band was featured in the January issue of Rolling Stone Magazine as an “Artist to watch out for”. With an extremely committed line-up and belief in their music, The Uncertainty Principle is here to stay!
