Arindam, Prattyay, and Sumitendra first met during their Annual Music Festival at Pearls of God School in September 2006. The peer spent the rest of the school year planning a band, ultimately forming a group called 'eXplicit'. Sankha, a classmate, later joined the group as a bassist. By 2008, the group, performed gigs for local festival promoters at small clubs. The band renamed themselves "Xplicit" in 2008. The Band also had recruited their longtime school friend Shambit, who was studying management, to be the band's manager. Along this, Kaushtav and Nilanjan, schoolmates of the band since the start, have always been voters in the prickliest decisions. The band's line-up was almost completed when Anirban joined to take up percussion duties, and Rajdeep to take up the strings job giving up their professional life. The band built their reputation playing in clubs at Hooghly and Kolkata over a three-year period from 2009.After completing their final examinations, Xplicit signed to a Club for a 2 year contract in early 2012 after the Boards. As it happens in many bands, we had to let go Sumitendra due to the reason Pink Floyd had to let go Roger Waters, but even after such a loss the band had been consistent in the making and the execution of the performances, making a connection in between the audiences and the band. After making their first appearance at Nandankanan Festival, they were selected for the Utopia Band festival in 2013 as a headliner. Since then, the band has performed in many festivals, clubs, and competitions and is prodigiously successful.
