This workshop offers an exciting opportunity to experience and capture the exciting cross cultural collection of lifestyles, crafts, art and architecture of South India. Dakshina Chitra means “a picture of the south”, it is a Heritage village where the lifestyle of South Indians is portrayed based on their states. The village has 18 heritage houses representing the living styles, artefacts and culture of the people from the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Telangana; it is a project of Madras Crafts Foundation opened in December, 1996.
