Often called the 'Gateway to the Heart of India', Maharashtra is the third largest state and second most populous state than in the country. Owing to its proximity to the Western Ghats, it is blessed with a picturesque backdrop of the mountains on one side and has the beautiful Konkan coastal belt on the other. It is the grand land of caves, memorials, hill stations, sanctuaries, seashores, citadels and is famous due to its diverse and colorful cultures, and various archaeological sites of historic importance. To strengthen its outreach among the travel and trade industry, Maharashtra Tourism department held a roadshow in Kolkata over the weekend
The roadshow was an interactive session connecting around 100 companies where meetings were conducted to introduce and brief the products and services offered, along with the indulgence in cultural performance depicting the culture of the State.
To woo customers The State also introduced tailor-made flexible tour packages tailor-made by Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, according to their needs and comfort. These packages, include the State’s resorts, with impeccable locations and views.
Srimant Harkar, Deputy director, directorate of tourism (Aurangabad), said it is exciting to see such an enthusiastic response from the travel industry in the city. The roadshow was well received, and it helped us understand the dynamics of the State.
The roadshow was graced by the authorities of Association of Tourism West Bengal, Bengal Travel Agents Association, Association of Eastern Himalaya Travels, Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India, and Indian Association of Tour Operators
This year, the Maharashtra tourism also unveiled a new logo The colorful ‘Visit Maharashtra’ logo, in the form of the letter ‘M’ in the Devanagari script, has been designed to celebrate the soul of the State and re-brand tourist hotspots,
