We Are Not The Same is a trend that grew popular on Twitter in the mid-October 2019. The trend is a play on a self-aggrandizing comparison. As the trend took the internet by storm, brands saw this as a perfect opportunity to use the hashtag for moment marketing. Netflix India was the first brand to be a part of this trend, followed by Swiggy, Dunkin donuts and many more. They used the trend to tell people how their product is different from others. Brands across categories such as FMCG, electronics, paints, ice-creams, broadcaster, production houses, online gaming, automobile, and others started participating. Some of the brands also took a jibe on their competitors to leverage the situation.
