Rural India homes diverse cultures, roles, lifestyles, languages, dialects and socio-economic conditions. On lines of the same, students of ICFAI Business School received an insightful hands-on lecture by Khurram Askari, Director of Insight Outreach on the 23rd of January in Hyderabad.
The talk successfully raised awareness about the different challenges faced by different marketers selling their giant brands in the rural market of India. The main case study of the interaction was marketing the regional product, Sambhar in South India in 236 diverse varieties. The talk also threw light on Andhra market preference for strong tasting giant brands such as Thumbs Up and Chakra Gold Dust Tea namely amongst other golden words of knowledge.
With over 25 years in the rural marketing industry, Khurram Askari is not only the Director of Insight Outreach Private Limited since 2005, but also the Vice President of Rural Marketing Association Of India since 2017. He was also an executive committee member of RMAI for over 11 years. He also strategizes brand activation for companies in rural India through innovative marketing solutions based on how people transact at the last mile.
