We already saw the use of hologram for events. But till now a holographic display scatters light only at 2D surface. This means the hologram can give you a 3D image view only if seen at a certain angle. But now BYU researchers have found a new 3D image projection technology that gives equal view of image from any angle better than hologram. A free -space volumetric display platform, based on photophoretic optical trapping technology, that produces full-colour, aerial volumetric images. Something we have seen in sci-fi movies like star-wars and iron-man. In this new technology, the laser beam is used to trap the particle and move around to create the image. This display is like a 3D printer for light. With this new innovation in volumetric display technology watching event speakers or product demo in event would be a pleasure.
