Marriott International to open Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort and Spa

Marriott International announced the opening of Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort and Spa on Thursday. The property in Chennai will join the brand's premier tier of exceptional Sheraton hotels globally. Marriott International has been recognized for their enticing destinations, eminent designs and excellence in service and guest experiences.

The property is located along the scenic East Coast Road of Tamil Nadu, overlooking the pristine Bay of Bengal. It includes beautiful, landscaped gardens that open on to miles of virgin beach sands and an endless ocean.

The architecture and design is inspired from the elements of nature. The architecture of the resort represents the lilting waves, shimmering sands and vast greenery. Throughout the property, rich wood accents, soothing color palettes, intricate tapestry and the inclusion of copper is displayed. Also, subtly depict local elements captures the charm of the city.

It will have expensive views of the sea with the variety of colors and textures. The element of Sun is brought about in a way with naturally spread lights in corridors. In the form of cement lamp stands and traditional, stone installations in rooms and restaurants, you can find the element of Sand. You can see the semblance of South Indian lifestyle through the rich artwork, copper artifacts and the intricate upholstery of beautiful, net weaved chairs.

The stunning copper installation of water buffaloes in the lobby are symbolic to Chennai city. The lobby is designed with the impression of the famous South Indian Catamaran, which is very symbolic to the city and the lives of the natives.
