First visually impaired Indian girl completed run of 140 km SPIRIT OF PINKATHON

Spirit of Pinkathon run is a city to city run from Pondicherry to Chennai, taken up by Pinkathon ambassadors to spread the message - ‘If I can, anyone can', which celebrates the potential of the human spirit and also to spread awareness that a fit woman will build a fit and healthy family.

Madam Kiran Bedi, the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, flagged off the Spirit of Pinkathon run on 2nd August 2018 at 6.30 am. She wished all the runners the very best, with words of encouragement for V. Divya and the team - Jaya Kumaravel, R Anitha, Jaipreet Aswani, Shrenik Jain and Giridhar Kamath.

By completing this run, V. Divya will be India’s first visually impaired girl to run the Spirit of Pinkathon Run from Pondicherry to Chennai along with Pinkathon mentor Milind Soman to spread the message of health and fitness for all women. This run has been organized as part of Pinkathon’s effort to raise awareness about the fundraising campaign to aid her further education and medical procedures. 

Divya has been trained for the two months by Pinkathon Ambassadors, Milind Soman, who has personally overseen her training by giving her important tips and guidance on endurance & strength building as well as nutrition.

To encourage and motivate 20-year-old V. Divya from Chennai, ‘See from the Heart’, a blindfold run organised at NCPA and several other locations in Mumbai besides ten other cities across India on 1st July 2018, which witnessed over 200 women runners’ participation.

Reema Sanghavi, Co-founder Pinkathon and Managing Director, Maximus MICE & Media Solutions PVT. Ltd. said, “It is wonderful to see a young girl taking charge of her life, and overcoming obstacles to achieve her dreams. It is Pinkathon’s endeavour to give wings for such amazing dreams, and the Spirit of Pinkathon Pondicherry to Chennai Run is our way encouraging her to achieve these dreams.”
