This proposal has been made to help the restaurant businesses track all the compliance related things. NRAI has given this proposal to the government.
Talking about this proposal, Rahul Singh, President of NRAI said, “It is a big challenge in today’s environment to keep a trail of plethora of licences and compliances from the local body level to the State and central level. A Uniform number or code in the form of Aadhar to the restaurants will help in keeping all the compliance and policy related stuff in the digital locker and have a digital trail of the same.”
He also said that such a system would help in weeding out non-compliant players from the sector or bringing such players also into the organised formats of the food service business.
Further he added, “We are ready to partner with the government and become a tool or agency for change and advocacy for change. Government has to create the eco-system for it.”
