Arshad Ali, the grandson of the legendary sarangi maestro late Padmashree Ustad Shakoor Khan, joined ITC-SRA in 1988, at the age of four as a child prodigy. He became a scholar here at the age of six. Born in the family of the principal Kirana Gharana musicians, he has been receiving extensive taleem from his maternal uncles, ITC SRA Guru, Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan and Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan.
