Mrs. Ganga, hailing from Calicut, Kerala, daughter of Prof. A.Krishnan and Mrs. Valsala Krishnan was born on 16th December and had interested in music from very young age and completed her graduation in English literature.

She came to Chennai in 1992 in fetch of a carrier in playback singing. Mr. Keeravani was the first music director to give her a song in a dubbing movie called "Aanenna Pennenna". Later she joined Mr.A.R.Rahman's harmony and worked with him from "Pudhiya Mugam(1993) to Lagaan(2001)". During this period she got opportunities to lend her voice for almost all the music directors in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. She has sung track voice for more than 500 songs. Her first solo song in a Tamil movie was for S.A.Rajkumar's "Ponmanam" song "Nilavinai Thottu Paar". Her first Malayalam song was for a Mohanlal movie called "Pakshe" and first Telugu song was in "Premante Idhera". She has sung more than 120 songs in all the four South Indian languages.

She is very good in stage performance also. She has been doing shows in India and abroad with A.R.Rahman, Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, Unni Krishnan, Vidyasagar etc.
