Bringing the freshness of mountain breezes from the Himalayan region, Dr. Gopal Krishan Shah promotes Indian Classical Music both, academically and artistically. Trained by his father Pt. Hari Krishan Shah (A disciple of His Holiness Swami D.R.Parvatikar Ji Maharaj), Dr. Gopal grips his audience with attractive and systematic Alaps, a different technique of Jod with fast and clear Tans and a rhythmic pattern of notes that are characteristically his own. Along with a longs list of awards, Dr. Gopal performed in several music albums and international venues such as fusion concerts in Iran and the Middle East in 2005, and Solo Concerts in Japan (2005,2006,2010 & 2011), International Film Festival 2007, Rome, Belgium and France in 2007. Passionate about propagating Indian tradition, Dr. Gopal is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Music & Fine Arts, University of Delhi.
