Nizami Bandhu is a Qawwali trio which is comprised of Ustaad Chand Nizami (son of late Ustad Mehmood Nizami), Shadab Faridi Nizami and Sohrab Faridi Nizami (both sons of late Ustad Ghulam Farid Nizami). They have a history which is rich, lustrous and royal in terms of art as this group is seven centuries old. They took up Qawwali 700 years back and generation after generation they been profoundly taking up this legacy to newer world and heights. They belong to a legendary and glorious “Sikandra Gharana” which is been known to have produced some magnificent and outstanding singers. They are the court singers at Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya.Late Ustad Mehmood Nizami worked as a court singer in Hyderabad and got recognition in other parts of India. He was honored by the first president of free India Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Late Ustaad Ghulam Farid Nizami was an accomplished and proficient singer as well as a good poet who set forth some really profound poems, shayari, ghazals and bhajans. He undoubtedly took the pace and promoted Qawwali and other aspects of Indian traditions and culture around the globe.
