About Manasi Parekh

Manasi Parekh Gohil is an actor, singer and performer.She grew up pursuing the creative arts at a very young age. Singing in live shows ever since she was 11 she was "born to the stage". She has trained in classical music under the tutelage of Shrimati Madhubala Chawla and Shri Shrikant Waiekar. She also learnt Folk music from Shri Purushottam Upadhyay. Manasi pursued a degree in English Literature at the St.Xavier's College Mumbai, a haven for creativity. This is where her love for acting began and she started participating in college productions as an actor-singer. Interacting with young artists from across the country she believes that Xavier's laid the foundation for her future as a performing artist.Manasi has been a part of the Indian Television Industry ever since she was in college. Having worked on almost all the major General Entertainment Channels (GECs) like MTV India, Zee Tv, Star Plus, 9x,Sony,Star One,Sab Tv she has always experimented with various genres in fiction and non-fiction from drama to comedy,music reality shows,commercials, short films.In 2008-2009 Manasi took a short break from her Television work and got enrolled at the "Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute" in New York to study theatre and dramatics in the Stanislavsky mode. Returning to India she debuted on stage with an English play "The Brief Candle" written by Mahesh Dattani. Currently she is working on a musical adaptation of Shakespeare's "All's well that ends well" which opens at the Globe Theatre (London) in May 2012.Apart from acting and music,Manasi is very passionate about food,yoga and traveling.
