Online meetup application Tinder is trying to capitalize its app targeting music festival. They have launched this new feature for all users called Festival Mode that allows users to showcase what festivals they are going to over the summer with badges. In partnership with AEG Live & Live Nation, the two largest festival operators in the United States, users will be able to select from 12 festivals in the US and UK.
The app will prioritize potential matches for those festivals, even if that person is outside of their normal radius. It means if users are travelling for the festival, you can still match with some out of town person to meet up at the festival. The application currently enveloped only 12 festivals of U.S and U.K but if it succeeds other countries can too expect to pair in the musical festival. There have been apps that have tried these types of ideas or connect via a certain genre of music let see how Tinder performs in that respect.
