Azerbaijan’s national tourism organisation, Azerbaijan tourism board, recently conducted a three familiarisation trip for Indian Agents and Wedding Planners based in Mumbai and Delhi. A familiarisation trip or Fam-trip is a free or low-cost trip provided by a travel operator or airline as a means of promoting their service.
Azerbaijan, Land of Fire and the Pearl of the Caucasus was the destiny for the Fam-trip. Discovering the land and its people in a new and unique experience the week-long hosting showcased popular tourist location such as Azerbaijan’s capital-Baku, Gabala, Galaalti, Guba and Qusar. The groups got an opportunity to visit some of the best hotels, tourist attractions and experienced activities, including food trails that gave them a taste of local flavours of the country.
Senior Management from travel companies like Travel Aura, Around The World, Varun Worldwide Holidays, Indiana Travel Services, Beyond Borders, Travel and Living, Amazing Vacations, Nivalink, N. Chirag Travels, Passionate Discoveries, Serendipity and Beyond Tours LLP, High Flyer Travel, Maurya Travels, Red Letter Holidays, Duurbeen Tailor Made Holidays explored the best of Azerbaijan, giving the trade companies a better understanding of the destination.
The wedding planners’ familiarisation trip was a large group of 15 planners namely Momente, Absolute Events, Weddingline.in, The Wedding Designers, Perfexion Events, Vivaah/ Party cruisers India, VarVadhu Weddings, Krayonz Entertainment, Momentum Events, HorizonsWIE, Cineyug Group of Companies, Wedding Sutra and WhatKnot.
The whole concept behind the Fam-trip was to take people on a different journey and open their mind to see Azerbaijan as a prospective destination for weddings and bolster the potential of the segment in India.
