Bangkok Has Been Ranked As The Most Visited City In The World

Bangkok, the buzzing capital of Thailand has an amazing nightlife, the best market for shopping and its traditional sites and lively culture make it a well rounded and fascinating place to visit. According to the recent Global Destination Cities Index, Bangkok, for the fourth year in a row has been declared as the most visited city in the world, with the most international visitors. The global destination cities index lists 200 cities around the world, with Bangkok at the top. The list has been prepared and released by Mastercard by gathering data on its proprietary analysis of publicly available spending data, and visitor numbers. 

Bangkok has beaten all major cities and the city records the most international overnight visitors, which is 22 million in all. Paris was second in the list and London was down one place since 2018 and was ranked 3rd. The index also showed that visitors spend the highest in Dubai, with an incredible $553 per day.

The top ten cities in the list are:

 

2.Paris, France — 19.1 million.

 

3.London, England — 19.09 million.

 

4.Dubai, United Arab Emirates — 15.93 million.

 

5.Singapore — 14.67 million.

 

6.Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — 13.79 million.

 

7.New York City, USA — 13.6 million.

 

8.Istanbul, Turkey — 13.4 million.

 

9.Tokyo, Japan — 12.93 million.

 

10.Antalya, Turkey — 12.41 million.
