Spikes Asia Awards, the celebration of creativity in communications, announced Nike as the recipient of Advertiser of the Year 2019. The accolade recognizes a brand that sets the standard of excellence through the quality and innovation of its creative work in Asia. The whole of Asia Pacific's creative community will come together to celebrate this three-day celebration that is taking place at Suntec Singapore from 27 – 29 September 2019.
This year, Nike also won the Grand Prix in Media, for its “Air Max Graffiti Store”. In 2018-2019, the creative work by Nike, coming out of Greater China, has seen strong appreciation. For FIFA 2018, Nike dominated just the quarterfinals as it knows that there is a larger number of favorite players on the field which increases audience attention in china. The brand also allowed young footballers to record and share their favorite moments using specially installed on-field cameras, which caught the six seconds before and after a goal.
Nike has won 13 Spikes since 2016: nine Bronze, two Silver and two Gold Spikes in Film and Digital Craft. Nike's collaboration with Google and BBH Singapore- 'Nike Hyper Court', engaged Philippine basketball players through a digital and physical experience, which aimed to improve the skills of the nation’s young players was one of its notable works. ‘Run It’, an original song and sport-driven music video that presented the rarely seen side of modern Korea, challenging gender roles and cultural stereotypes, was also highly appreciated.
