Artist Avantika Bawa is back with her third installation of the Scaffold Series. The installation named ‘A PINK SCAFFOLD IN THE GREAT RANN’ is a man-made utilitarian structure transformed into an object of beauty through the colour pink. The location of the salt desert ceases to be an object of function to the installation.
The talk show by Avantika on the installation aims at drawing attention to the beauty of the vast landscape of the desert and creating a space of contemplation as well as that of inquiry. The event is scheduled on 20th December at 079 Stories, Ahmedabad. The first two installations of the series were completed in Mumbai in 2012 and Astoria, Oregon USA in 2016.
