Soor Academy was conceived in the year 1989 by Pallavi Mehta in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. It started with three students and there has been no looking back since then. It has been 25 years of musical journey and currently the Academy constitutes people from all walks of life including young enthusiastic students, dedicated home makers and professionals. The academy caters as a forum for music enthusiasts wanting to further their knowledge in Hindustani classical music.Pallavi Mehta received her training in Sitar from Guru Shri Laxmikant Bhai Doshi, renowned Sarodist from Gujarat and restwhile Principal of Sangeet Natya Academy, Rajkot. Guruji has been the guiding light of the academy since its inception and has been a constant source of encouragement in the activities of the Academy
