Rahib was formed when two close friends Swaresh and Rishabh decided to form their own band as they played with many bands across Delhi as freelancers, but they didn’t find brotherhood and unity which were the most important things in their perspective. Then in 2012, they finally found a good team to work with as Swaresh met Gaurav(Muhfaad) in his college and Rishabh met Mayank at gym and four of them formed a good quatro. After an year they took Vishal as lead guitarist in the band who was also school mate of Mayank. The name is formed with some initials representing different so called names of their country i.e. INDIA R – Representing A – Aryavarta H – Hindustan I – India B – Bharat The meaning of RAHIB is recognized in some languages like Arabic and URDU as “Awesome” and “Merciful” respectively. RAHIB is a 5 piece band consisting a Vocalist, Guitarist, Bassist, Drummer and a Rapper/Keyboardist. The band is basically influenced from Rock music but they fused Rap as an ingredient in their genre. The band is known for their onstage energy. Things strengthening this band are their unity, original music pieces they compose and their lyrics. The band believes in performing live as much as possible.
