Shree Saroj Mukherjee is very well known in Mysore music circle as an accomplished Sitarist. He is a veteran both in performance and teaching. His passion for Hindustani classical music and dedication to traditional school unswayed by modern pop music is something exemplary. He has been teaching and training regularly several Indian as well as overseas’ students, the art of sitar plying at Dhvanyaloka, a prestigious centre for Indian Literary and Aesthetic studies in Mysore since 2003. He is also a music faculty in Vivekananda Institute of Indian Culture and Studies in Mysore where he has been conducting sitar classes for students of Iowa University, USA, for the last 3 years. He has been reckoned as an effective and popular teacher as he loves his students as much as he loves music. Shree Mukherjee started his career as a Mechanical Engineer and was a Senior Executive in some Engg. Concerns and music then was his hobby.
