Slain is India’s answer to Progressive Rock. After winning every major national-level rock competition during it’s formative years, most notably October Fest 07, NLS Strawberry fields ’07 (Bangalore), CBIT Carpe Diem 08 (Hyderabad), IITC Saarang 08 (Chennai), IITM Livewire 08 (Mumbai), Hornbill Rock Contest (Nagaland) and others, the band gained popularity and media attention: earning them headlining slots at dozens of college fests and major music events such as Rock ‘n India 09, Bangalore Habba 07, Rock Ethos ‘08 & ’09 eventually performing alongside international sensations like Irom Maiden, Mr. Big and Meshuggah on their tours of India. Metal Hammer UK, the largest selling metal music magazine in UK, in it’s May 2010 issue recognized Slain as one of the top 10 bands in India.
