Sourish Bhattacharjee, son of Sri Santanu Bhattacharjee, a quality Tabla player (disciple of Late Pt. Biswanath Bose) and Smt Shikha Bhattacharjee, a Rabindra Sangeet Singer. Sourish born in 1978 December 10, at Kolkata in a musical family. Started his music learning under the inspiration and supervision of his father. Sourish completed his B.A. (Hons.) in 2000 from Calcatta University, Kolkata. Completed M.A. in Music from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata and stood 1st class 1st.
Sourish has taken his basic music training from Sri Chandan Roy and Sri Ashish Chakraborty, then Pandit Nihar Ranjan Bandyopadhyay (an eminent classical maestro of Vishnupur Gharana) trained him the essential lessons of that Gharana of classical vocal.
Sourish has taken his necessary voice training from Pandit Jayanta Bose of Binkar Gharana. The eminent music director Debashish Ganguly (Tunai) trained him the commercial styles & now he is under the companion of Arindam Bhattacharjee and Sri Sougata Banerjee, a close disciple of Pandit Jasraj.
