A good anchor can uplift an average event. A bad anchor can deflate an excellent event.
A competent anchor/Master of Ceremonies is the glue which holds an event together. After all, anchoring is not just about making announcements. It is about adding a dash of your own persona to the conference, workshop, show or programme. A good anchor should be able to respect protocol without nervousness. She should be able to think on her feet. She should prepare well, but also be prepared to handle the unexpected. She should be at ease with everyone – whether it is the Union Finance Minister or a Self Help Group member.
