Harish Umrao, born on 23 August, 1949 in the Diamond city of India, Surat. His love for Music and Arts is from the very beginning of his childhood. His father used to make flute by himself and play thus giving Umrao his 1st music inspiration.
Apart from the singing talent for which he is known for, He’s also a good baker and has handled his own UMRAO BAKERY for years, a good choreographer (choreographed various dance forms during his college days and later as well), a good composer (gave Gujarati Music a new direction with his mesmerizing compositions), a good photographer, also a good lyricist, written Garbas for 4 albums - "Mata Umiya Padharo", "Maare Unjha Gaam Jaavu Chhe", "Mai Toh Joyun Re Umiya Dhaam", "Maa Jagdamba".
The title song "Mata Umiya Padharo" has become the "Theme Song" for the famous "Umiya Dhaam" temple in Surat.
Harish Umrao is not only known to be a good person, inspiring many young talents but also giving them various platforms to showcase it to the world.
He's also given various background score for plays besides composing songs for them for which he's won various awards and acknowledgements.
