Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), is participating in Asia's most significant professional travel show, China International Travel Mart (CITM). The three-day event is going to take place at Kunming, China from 15-17 November. The aim is to increase Tourism & Trade between India and China.
The objective of India Pavilion set up at CITM is to promote India’s varied tourism products and services, including the Buddhist Circuit. The move by the government of India is to attract Chinese travelers to visit India. The event is expected to strengthen tourism and trade between both countries and facilitate Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Government (B2G) meetings. The India Pavilion at CITM was inaugurated by Ms. RupinderBrar, Additional Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India, and Mr. Dipak Haksar, Chief Executive, ITC Hotels on 15 November 2019. The count of Indian delegations, including Hoteliers, Travel agents, Airlines, Railways, amongst others participating in the CITM is 35.
CITM is an annual event sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Civil Aviation Administration of China and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, in Shanghai and Kunming, alternately. CITM has attracted the attention of people in the tourism industry globally. The platform showcases the “Beautiful China” and creates opportunities for domestic and international tourism cooperation. The participants come from various sectors of the travel industry, including both domestic and international tourist organizations, travel agencies, hotels, airlines, and related travel companies.
Professional trade days are arranged exclusively for registered delegates to guarantee their participation in CITM is a valuable one. During the day open to the public, exhibitors can promote tourist products and show the advantages of tourism resources to the larger audience directly.
The CITM Organizing Committee also invites a large number of correspondents from domestic and overseas media outlets to extensively cover the mart.
