Goa witnessed massive tourism as Sunburn, Asia’s biggest electronic music festival was back in the state. The mega event that was dated for December 27, 28, 29, 2019, also made it a perfect New Year's Getaway. The festival, needless to say, was bigger, better but controversial. The event luring fans of EDM witnessed the death of 3 tourists.
Two tourists from Andhra Pradesh collapsed after feeling uneasy while standing outside the festival venue. They were taken to a hospital where doctors declared them dead. The postmortem was conducted and the opinion on the cause of death was reserved as the viscera were sent for further forensic examination. Another tourist from Bengaluru complained of uneasiness at the venue and later died, minutes after being rushed to a hospital, Goa Pradesh Youth Congress Committee president Varad Mardolkar alleged that drugs were "openly sold" at the event.
With India not being safe anymore, people should take more precautions while visiting such places where alcohol is permitted or at such events Things we can learn from this incident is:
